About The Journal


The HPNLU Journal of Disability Studies is annual and is blind peer-reviewed. The Journal is launching its maiden issue (Volume 1). Among National Law School Journals in India, HPNLU Journal of Disability Studies is a first of its kind, which is totally devoted to disability Laws and related jurisprudence. The idea behind this journal is to provide a platform to all the stakeholders including people with disabilities; disability activists; lawyers; policy-makers and researchers to promote the first person narratives on disability studies and dilute the otherinzation of people with disabilities. The editorial board of the journal encourages the researchers to contribute their experiences and innovative reasoning in the field. The Journal, while following NEP, accepts works from vide area of disability studies and related issues based on multidisciplinary approach. It includes legal; sociology-economic; socio-legal; linguistic; sociological; historical; political; psychological; gender and sexuality; feminist; modernity & post-modernity etc. aspects of disability studies. We welcome theoretical; qualitative and quantitative ideas. The purpose of this journal is to establish a conducive environment for disability-discourse, whereby sensitizing the society at large towards people with disabilities and establishing right-in-action approach.
