SCHOLARSHIP CELL A scholarship is an award of financial aid for a student to further his or her education. Scholarships are awarded based on various criteria, which usually reflect the values and purposes of the donor or founder of the award. The Student Scholarship Cell has been established to serve the purpose of providing help to students for their higher studies. The Cell aims high to give ample amount of help needed to the students through government grants, trust, and foundation which provides various kinds of scholarships to students. The scholarship cell is under the charge of a Scholarship Nodal Officer, appointed by the Vice Chancellor. The present Nodal Officer (2019-20) is Dr. Hari Chand, Assistant Professor of Economics. The university intends to make the academic programmes of the institution more attractive by trying all the needy students to receive scholarships. As most of the scholarships are based on merit, the students are motivated to sustain and improve their academic standards. Attracting meritorious students, sustaining their performance, and increasing their competence are the major benefits we aim at through this practice. The Scholarship Cell conducts an orientation programme on the different scholarships available to all first-semester students at the beginning of every academic year. The procedure for registering for scholarships is also demonstrated in the orientation class. Different types of scholarship schemes introduced by central and state governments are made available to the students on time by the institution. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Monitoring the timely submission, verification, and processing of scholarship applications. All Students are advised to open zero balance accounts in nationalized banks for the easy transfer of scholarship amounts. The entire scheme is conducted in a transparent manner.
