The HPNLU Library is a special place in the University Campus with a rich collection of Books, and  Periodicals  in fields of Law, Economics, Political Science, Management, Sociology, History, Psychology, Philosophy etc. The Library functions as the primary Information Resource Centre and Repository of printed and Electronic Resources to fulfill the teaching and research activities at the University. 


The Periodical section includes the back issues of Supreme Court Case, All India Reporter, Criminal Law Journal, Harvard Law Review, and Judgement Today and Himachal Law Reporter. In addition to these the library has subscription to 21 print journals and 14 Magazines and 10 Newspapers for the updated knowledge.  


The Reference section includes the Law Reports, Bare Acts, Commentaries, Proceedings, Legislative & constitutional material, Encyclopedias, and Dictionaries etc.

To support digital learning and research, the library provides access to leading e-resources including Hein Online (Academic Core), SCC Online (Premium),AIR Online, Taxmann, Manupatra, REEDLAW Law Reporters, LexisNexis Advance, Kluwer Arbitration, Live Law (Legal News Reporter), Westlaw Asia, Press Reader(7000+ e Newspapers & Magazines) & Turnitin Feedback Studio with Turnitin Originality-Plagiarism Detection Software, and Grammarly-an AI based writing assistance tool. The Library operations are automated using ‘KOHA’ Library Management Software. The Library Web OPAC is publicly accessible and can be used from anywhere, on any device. It enable susers to search for books and other resources available in the Library’s holdings and guides them to physical locations on the stacks.(Click Here)


The Library has implemented the RFID System for modernizing the library operations, providing users with a more convenient and automated experience. 

The Library has installed the Patron Traffic Counter (PTC) System for computerized Gate Entry and Exit to save time for the users and staff.

The Library has also installed the PEARL Open book Scanner Reader has an OCR facility, and the JAWS Talking Screen Reader, which converts normal Computer into talking PC for Visually Impaired users.

The Library is part of the Indian Research Information Network System(IRINS), which showcases the research profiles, publications, and academic contributions of the University’s faculty members.(Click Here) 

The Library contributes to the Shodhganga Repository of UGC by uploading the Theses awarded by the University. (Click Here) 

The Library also contributes to Shodhgangotri Repository of UGC by uploading the approved Synopses of registered Ph.D. Scholars of the University. (Click Here)
