The concept of National Academic Depository (NAD) is born out of an initiative by MoE to provide a 24X7 online depository to Academic institutions to store and publish their academic awards. The digital depository not only ensures easy access to and retrieval of an academic award but also validates and guarantees its authenticity and safe storage. Academic Bank of Credits (ABC) is an online repository of academic awards (Degrees, Diplomas, Certificates, Mark-Sheets, etc.) lodged by the academic institutions/boards/eligibility assessment bodies in a digital format. It is a 24x7 online mode for making available academic awards and shall help in validating their authenticity, safe storage and easy retrieval. The Digi locker platform of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India has the facility to pull students' academic documents into the issued documents section in an electronic form once uploaded through the Digi locker-ABC platform by the original issuer. These electronic records available on Digi locker platform are valid documents as per the provision of the Information Technology Act, 20s00. The ABC/ APAAR ID acts as a link to Digi Locker, an online repository, where students securely store essential documents like exam results.
